Civil Servants Warned on Absentism after Christmas festivities

Makueni County Commissioner Maalim Mohammed has said the government will take disciplinary action against civil servants who have not resumed duty after the Christmas festivities.

Maalim lamented that majority of national government offices remained closed affecting delivery of crucial services to residents.

He said it is against the code of regulations for civil servants to abscond duty without valid reasons and asked officers to report back to work immediately.

“It is quite unfortunate that officers have not resumed work after the Christmas holiday. We shall deal with such officers accordingly, “said Maalim.

Speaking  when  he chaired  the National  Government Service  Delivery  and  Coordination Committee today at his  board room the county  commissioner said the government was committed  in ensuring  100 percent  transition of all 2018  KCPE  candidates to secondary  schools.

He called on chiefs and assistant chiefs to collaborate with head teachers and principals to ensure no pupil fail to join form one next year.
