Police in Mbita Sub-County have launched investigations into an incident where a decomposing body was found dumped at Got Ombok hills in Ruri East Sub-location of Homa Bay County.
The body of Roselyne Achieng was found Friday evening in the bush by two young boys who were herding their goats and reported the matter to the area chief.
Confirming the incident to KNA, Homa Bay County police Commander, Marius Tum said the police officers visited the scene and on checking the decomposing body, they found an identity card bearing the name of Micky Otieno.
The identity card indicated that the deceased was born on January 15, 1992 at Kamagambo Location in Kodero Obara of Migori County.
Tum further disclosed that next to the body was a long trouser, two pairs of shoes, a techno mobile phone, a green Maasai Kanga hanging on a shrub and a bus ticket written from Kisumu to Rodi.
The officer added that the face of the deceased looked skinned with both eyes gouged out.
At the same time, he appealed to the residents with any relevant information regarding the incident to confide it to police.
He said the corpse has been moved to Homa bay county Referral Hospital awaiting autopsy.
