Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has put on notice ECDE classroom construction contractors who have been paid for part of the work but have deserted their sites.
The Governor gave them a one-month deadline to resume work or risk having the contracts reassigned to other responsible contractors for completion.
Speaking at Kakamega Polytechnic on Thursday, Governor Barasa regretted that some contractors have a habit of abandoning work halfway despite being paid, as citizens complain of slow progress and incomplete projects.
He directed the procurement department to be ready to take action once the one-month deadline elapses.
