A middle aged man who killed his neighbour in Tangulbei area of Tiaty East Sub County has been arraigned before a Kabarnet court charged with murder.

The charge sheet stated that on June 5, this month, Ibrahim Kamatan Mata allegedly murdered Kakerer Todo in Tangulbei location contrary to Section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code.

When the charges were read to the accused before Resident Magistrate Vienna Amboko, he denied committing the said offence.

“I pray this honourable court to grant me 14 days to complete my investigations and may the suspect be detained at Kabarnet police station during the investigation period,” said Inspector Munguti.

Questioned why he needed two weeks, the investigating officer defended his plea saying he had not yet visited the scene of incident and also still to get witnesses to record statements to facilitate commencement of the case.

The magistrate in her ruling granted the request and ordered the accused to be remanded at Kabarnet police station until June 21 when the case will come up for mention.
