A somber mood engulfed the villagers of Asumbi in Gem Central Location of Rangwe Sub County after the body of a college security guard was found in a forest.
The decomposing body of Clement Nyapara Ware, a security guard at Asumbi Teachers Training College, was spotted by his colleagues who were on their patrols last night in a forest within the college.
According to the area Chief Peter Otieno Oula, the deceased left his home for work two days ago and never returned prompting his relatives to mount a search that went in vain.
Oula added that the deceased allegedly died two days ago as his body had started decomposing.
At the same time, the administrator added that the deceased was found in his full uniform and he had a mobile phone in one of the pockets.
He also reiterated that they found two empty bottles of Triatix pesticide at the scene suspecting that the deceased might have consumed the content.
Confirming the incident to KNA, Rangwe Sub County Deputy County Commissioner Joash Kolum said the police have launched investigations into the matter.
The body was removed to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
