Two boat operators charged with bhang trafficking in Lamu East

Two middle aged men were  arraigned before a Lamu law court on drug peddling charges after they were found with 25 rolls of bhang.

 

According to the prosecution, Jamal Mohammed and Hussein Mohammed both in their mid-twenties were on the May 27, 2019 found in possession of Sh. 12,500 worth of bhang, at the Mtangawanda Jetty area in Lamu East.

 

The two were caught following a tip off from members of the public who noted that the two, boat operators were peddling drugs into the Faza and Pate Island.

 

The two who appeared before Senior Magistrate Victor Asiyo however denied the charges levelled against them by State.

 

They were then released on a Sh 100,000 bond each with surety of the same amount.
