Kajiado County hits 110 health care facilities in new launch

Kajiado County led by its Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has ensured quality, accessible and affordable health care through the launch of Saina Health care in Dallallekutok Ward.

This was preceded by the flagging off of Sh53 million worth of medical consignment to all sub-county health centres, reinforcing the commitment to ensure that these facilities are not only accessible but also adequately equipped to serve the community.

Over the course of his administration, Kajiado County Governor has made deliberate efforts to broaden access to healthcare services across the county.

Speaking at the launch, Lenku declared his intent to boost Kajiado’s health facilities across all sub-counties saying he would ensure that the hospitals are well stocked with essential medication.

“Under the project to make our towns livable, we have been able to boost infrastructure through the provision of health care, water and building of roads. Some of these projects are completed and others are ongoing. We are glad to be able to launch this facility here within the community as we had intended,” said Lenku.

Deputy Governor Martin Moshisho applauded the governor and his administration for continued efforts to enforce development projects and facilitating infrastructure across all departments ranging from health, roads, water.

The CEC Health Alex Kilowua emphasized on the important role of the new Saina Health centre besides providing health care to its environs, citing that it would help ease the workload of health care providers at the Kajiado Referral Hospital hence increasing the quality of services provided.

“A majority of outpatient citizens will be served at this modern health facility right at the heart of Kajiado town allowing Kajiado Referral Hospital to effectively serve inpatient citizens,” said Kilowua.

A community health promoter (CHP) Susan Nashipae thanked the administration for availing a modern health facility right at the residents’ doorstep, appreciating its accessibility to the people.

“I urge my fellow citizens to utilize the facility while protecting and safeguarding it as it is here to serve us and our needs,” she said.

With only 90 functional health care centres providing health care to the vast Kajiado County population in 2017, the county now prides itself of 110 well equipped functional health care centres, ensuring each Sub County benefits from improved medical infrastructure.
