Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo has urged county officials to uphold accountability, efficiency and innovation as they signed performance contracts and work plans for the 2025/2026 financial year.
The exercise, conducted at the county headquarters, brought together County Executive Committee Members (CECs), Chief Officers, Directors, Sub-County and Ward Administrators, among other senior officers.
Dr. Ottichilo commended the leaders for their commitment and particularly challenged younger officers to take their responsibilities seriously.
“Let us strive to do our best and remain committed to what we have signed,” he said, stressing discipline and dedication in public service.
Deputy governor Wilberforce Kitiezo emphasized teamwork in achieving the county’s development agenda, noting that performance must be cultivated at all levels.
“Performance is always from bottom to top. It is for all of us to make it possible to achieve what we want,” he said.
The performance contracts outline expectations for the 2025/2026 period including efficiency in service delivery, prudent resource management, adoption of innovative practices, effective monitoring and evaluation, and integration of cross-cutting issues.
The governor closed the ceremony by thanking county staff for their continued support, adding that the new commitments would serve as a guiding framework in transforming service delivery and accelerating development in the area.
