Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has unveiled its candidate for the Purko ward upcoming by-elections to be held in November 27,2025.
Speaking during the unveiling at the party’s headquarters in Kajiado town, DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua, said that he is confident that Simon Sanare Saidimu will clinch the seat and grant the party the victory they are aspiring for.
He said that the decision to unveil Sanare as the party’s candidate for the Member of County Assembly seat was reached through consensus after a meeting with Maasai elders from Purko ward.
Gachagua noted that Sanare is an accomplished leader, a patriot, and a true people’s person and he believes in his ability to engage the common man and to stand firmly for the rights of his people.
“He is deeply committed to people-centric issues, and we are confident that his candidature will lead our party to the victory we are aspiring for in Purko Ward, Kajiado Central Constituency, Kajiado County,” said Gachagua.
On his part, Sanare appreciated the party for the position and said that he is confident of clinching the seat.
The Purko Member of County Assembly seat fell vacant after the death of Simon Saitoti who died in March 2025 following a short illness.
Sanare will face off with Amos Mpusia who is the United Democratic Alliance(UDA) candidate and Daniel Naikuni, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate.
IEBC plans to hold all by-elections countrywide on November 27, 2025.
