Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga has said President Dr. William Ruto’s growing working relationship with KANU party chairman Gedion Moi strengthens the broad-based government.
According to Oburu, the development was a positive thing for the unity of Kenya and was worth emulating by other politicians.
The senator was speaking at St. Paul’s Akoko secondary school grounds in Bondo constituency during celebrations to mark International Day of the Girl Child.
Dr. Oburu dismissed claims that by Gedion Moi joining the broad-based government, the Orange Democratic movement’s stake in the arrangement will be watered down.
“Let everybody come in. We are not threatened by anybody coming in. In fact, it is a plus for all of us,” he said, adding that Kenyans must learn to talk to each other and agree on certain principles.
On the ongoing voter registration, the senator lamented over the low turnout and called on the youth to turn up and register.
Dr. Oburu reminded Kenyans that it was only through voting that they could change government leadership and create a quality government.
He urged citizens to register, stressing that participation is key to having a voice in governance.
