Three injured as strong winds disrupt burial ceremony in Kajiado

Three people were injured on Tuesday after strong winds disrupted a burial ceremony in Mile 46, Kajiado Central Constituency.

The incident occurred during the burial of Mzee Paul ole Kipapei when powerful winds blew through the scene, tumbling tents and causing panic among mourners.

According to witnesses, the three victims, two women and a man, were seated under one of the tents when it collapsed.

One woman however sustained serious injuries after being struck by a tent pole as she tried to escape. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The burial ceremony was briefly interrupted but was expected to resume shortly once safety measures were put in place.
