Candidate cry’s foul over voter bribery

Mbeere North Parliamentary aspirant on Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) Party Duncan Mbui has alleged that voting in many areas has been marred by massive cases of voter bribery.

‎ Mbui who spoke after casting his vote Kiathambu Primary School in Ishaira, claimed that voter bribery has been witnessed along the major polling stations despite IEBC’s warning.

‎ He said it was unfortunate that instead of Mbeere people being given an opportunity to vote for a leader of their own, their will was being subverted through inducement.

‎ Meanwhile, chaos were witnessed in Kanyuambora as residents blocked Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku from accessing the polling station.

‎ CS Ruku was forced to retreat hurriedly after angry residents charged at him, accusing him of attempting to interfere with the voting exercise.

‎ Residents blocked any government or private vehicles from accessing the station, vowing to guard the votes to the last minute.

‎ They maintained that they will not tolerate any suspicious activity around the polling stations.
