Lizbaze FC and Elites FC were crowned champions of the fifth edition of the KKK Cup Tournament held at the Kiprugut Chumo Stadium in Kericho County.
Spearheaded by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, the tournament continues to be a key platform for nurturing sporting talent in the region.
Lizbaze FC claimed the men’s title with a 2–1 victory over Raiders FC of Belgut, while Elites FC secured the women’s championship with a strong performance, scoring five goals against Kapkugerwet FC in the final.

More than 30 teams participated in this year’s edition, which also included volleyball competitions for men and persons living with disabilities, underscoring the tournament’s commitment to inclusivity, community engagement, and talent development.
Senator Cheruiyot emphasised the importance of platforms like the KKK Cup in creating opportunities for young athletes in Kericho and beyond.
As part of its continued support for grassroots sports, SportPesa partnered with the KKK Cup to elevate the tournament’s impact, contributing Sh15 million toward prize money and facilitation.
The company also provided 52 full sets of sports kits to participating teams, boosting their preparedness and enhancing the overall competition experience.
Speaking during the finals, SportPesa’s Head of Partnerships and Sponsorships, Japheth Akhulia, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empowering youth and strengthening local competitions.
He noted that the calibre of talent showcased throughout the tournament highlights the immense potential within grassroots sports and underscores the need for sustained investment.
The event attracted notable guests, among them Harambee Stars Head Coach Benni McCarthy, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, and other national and local leaders.
