Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Stephen Isaboke EBS, has been recognised with two prestigious national awards for exemplary leadership and accountability, underscoring Kenyaโ€™s ongoing drive to strengthen public service performance and enhance delivery to citizens.

PS Isaboke received accolades for Achievement of an Unmodified Audit Opinion and Transformational Leadership during the 2025 End of Year Public Service Reflection Dinner and Agenda-Setting Retreat at the Tom Mboya labour college, Kisumu.

The awards highlight his role in championing financial integrity, institutional reforms, and service excellence within his Ministry.

An unmodified audit opinion signals rigorous stewardship of public resources, confirming that funds are well-managed and systems meet the highest standards of accountability.

During the Kisumu retreat, PS Stephen Isaboke, EBS, received an award for his leadership in advancing institutional reforms and steering the Public Service Transformation Agenda 2025.

The transformational leadership award recognises his efforts to modernise operations, boost efficiency, and instill a results-driven culture in government.

After the ceremony, PS Isaboke described the recognition as โ€œa humbling affirmation of the collective effort of teams committed to ensuring that citizens feel the impact of government programmes.โ€ He added that the awards strengthen his resolve to uphold accountability and disciplined service delivery in 2026.

The event, presided over by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, was attended by Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, legislators, and leaders of constitutional commissions to review 2025 achievements and set priorities for the coming year. National Treasury and Economic Planning CS John Mbadi served as Chief Guest.

Key discussions focused on priority reforms, accelerated delivery mechanisms, and lessons from 2025 with emphasis on translating government commitments into tangible improvements in citizensโ€™ daily lives.

Governance experts at the retreat noted that recognitions like those given to PS Isaboke set performance benchmarks across ministries.

โ€œClean audits and reform-driven leadership demonstrate what is achievable when public service institutions embrace integrity and innovation,โ€ one official said.

Among those in attendance were Cabinet Secretaries Dr Alfred Mutua (Labour & Social Protection), Geoffrey Ruku (Public Service), Julius Migos Ogamba (Education), Ms Beatrice Askul Moe (EAC & ASALS), Dr Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives & MSME Development), and Dr Opiyo Wandayi (Energy & Petroleum), alongside other national leaders.

As public service gears up for 2026, PS Isabokeโ€™s awards reflect a broader shift toward transparent, citizen-centred governance reinforcing the governmentโ€™s commitment to ensuring measurable improvements in service delivery nationwide.
