Legislator pledges to develop school infrastructure

Tinderet Member of Parliament Julius Melly has pledged to continue leveraging the National Government Constituencies Development Fund to enhance school infrastructure.

Melly made the remarks during the commissioning of a new classroom at Kapruret Primary School. The ceremony was attended by pupils, teachers, parents and education officials.

“I will continue to use NG‑CDF to improve infrastructure in our schools so that students can learn in a safe and conducive environment,” he declared.

“Better classrooms, laboratories, dormitories and other essential facilities will help our children transition more smoothly to universities and tertiary institutions,” he added.

The newly inaugurated classroom, complete with modern desks, is part of a broader strategy that has already seen the construction of several school buildings and the provision of bursaries for deserving students.

According to the MP, the NG‑CDF has been instrumental in funding these projects, with a significant percentage of the constituency’s budget earmarked for educational development.

Parents in attendance expressed gratitude for the MP’s continued support, noting that the improved facilities would reduce travel distances for many pupils.

Melly also outlined plans to allocate additional NG‑CDF resources to upgrade other schools in the area, including the construction of dormitories and the refurbishment of laboratories to meet national standards.

He reiterated that under his leadership, schools will continue to benefit from targeted NG‑CDF funding, ensuring that education remains a cornerstone of the constituency’s development.
