Muhoroni ODM officials endorse Sub County polls

The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) officials in Muhoroni constituency in Kisumu County have hailed the party’s recent grassroots election process as having been above board.

The elected Muhoroni constituency branch chairman Vitalis Okute hailed the elections as having been transparent where only those endorsed by the majority won the seats.

He thanks party members for electing the current office holders as their ODM representatives and urged the residents to support the new leadership.

Okuta reiterated that as ODM members they will only heed to the command of party leader Raila Odinga, even as he rallied all ODM elected leaders in Nyanza region to push for the resuscitation of the hailing sugar mills in Nyanza region.

“Our commitment as ODM elected leaders in Nyanza is to heed to Raila’s command, so our prime agenda with our elected leaders is to ensure that they push for the revival of the sugar sector, which was the economic bedrock of the western region.

Simon Okwama, who is also an elected ODM representative in Muhoroni rallied residents to come back to the party, so as to strengthen the ODM party Muhoroni branch.

He announced that the new office bearers may soon embark on a major recruitment drive to boost their numbers, ahead of the coming general polls to ensure that the party retained her political advantage both locally and at the national stage.

The ODM Representative for Women and Persons living with Disability Mary Atieno Kayongo called for fair representation of those living with challenges, but hailed the party organs for conducting peaceful and credible polls.

She however challenged the women to also vie for party branch leadership position in the coming grassroots polls women.
