Jomvu Member of Parliament, Hon. Badi Twalib, wants more teachers hire to address the staff shortage in his Constituency.
Speaking during a bursary disbursement event for his scholarship program at his office, Twalib stressed that parents, teachers, and students must work together to ensure 100 per cent transition to senior school.
“We have said here in Jomvu that no child should stay at home, no matter what the problem is, whether school fees or uniform. The child must go to school, and later we can be informed of the issues,” Twalib said.
The MP highlighted his efforts to support education in Jomvu, including implementing an All-Day High Schools program that provides 100 per cent bursary to students. He also challenged Jomvu residents whose children have finished school to pursue teaching, offering to sponsor their school fees 100 per cent.
Twalib emphasized the importance of collaboration between Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and the ministry to support infrastructure development in schools.
“We must have collaboration between CDF and the ministry to ensure that supporting infrastructure continues in line with the intake of students,” he said.
Twalib further expressed satisfaction with the progress of education in Jomvu, citing improved discipline and academic performance.
“Right now, Jomvu has a high level of discipline: there are no early pregnancies, no children caught with drugs in class, and no issues with gangs among our children because of our collective effort,” he said.
