Vihiga Hospital signs MoU with training institutions

Vihiga Teaching and Referral Hospital (VTRH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with St. Mary’s Medical Training College, Kombewa Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and Webuye KMTC.

The agreement aims to implement medical training programmes and outline the terms of collaboration between the hospital and the institutions. VTRH, which provides health services and training facilities for medical education, nursing, and related health sciences, will support the clinical training of students. This includes guidance on logbooks, handbooks, and curriculum materials for health records and information technology students.

The signing ceremony was attended by VTRH Medical Superintendent, Dr. Collins Masika, Hospital Administrator Clement Aderi, Hospital Nursing Manager William Litu, his deputy Lydia Mocheche, and Deputy Clinical Officer-in-Charge Dr. Emmanuel Indagasi.

Dr. Masika said the partnership will enhance practical learning for students and strengthen medical training in the county, ensuring graduates are better prepared for clinical duties and healthcare service delivery.
