Class Seven Pupil Drowns

Counties Editor's Pick Nakuru News

A 17 year old class 7 pupil has succumbed to death after he slipped and fell into a hole at a quarry in Siwot area, Kuresoi South.
The deceased is said to have met his untimely death while he was on his way to Keringet clinic but no one knew whether he had been sent on an errand or not.
Area Chief, Nicholas Kering, confirmed the incident, saying that the deceased is a pupil at Siwot Primary School and it has not been established why he went through the quarry at that particular time when the rains had just subsided.
The hole he fell in, is said to be very deep but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Keringet Clinic soon after rescuers retrieved him.
Kering, however, urged parents to be keen on knowing the whereabouts of their children, especially this time when the children are at home due to the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic.
He insisted on the need of engaging them in the right manner and advise them on routes to use when going out during rains to help curb such incidents in future.
Body of the deceased was moved to Olenguruone Sub-county mortuary awaiting postmortem.
