The Principal Secretary (PS) for Correctional Services, Salome Beacco, led a tree planting exercise at Gatitu Primary School in Gatundu South, where over 2,000 fruit and indigenous trees were planted.
Joined by conservationists, learners, and residents, Ms. Beacco underscored the importance of sustained care and protection of trees to mitigate climate-related challenges such as flooding, food insecurity, and drought.
She further called on Kenyans to embrace tree planting in public and high-traffic areas to enhance ecosystem restoration and promote long-term environmental resilience.
