Vincent Maunda has been nominated as the Ford Kenya party candidate for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for the Chwele/Kabuchai Ward by-election, slated for November 27 of this year.
The seat fell vacant following the death of the former MCA James Barasa Mukhongo, who passed on last month.
Maunda garnered 20 votes, followed by another aspirant, Ezekiel Khamusini, who got four votes, while two other contestants did not get any votes.
The nominations were done through secret ballot and were presided over by the Ford Kenya Director of Elections, Khadija Mustafa.
The Secretary General of Ford Kenya, John Chikati, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tongaren constituency in Bungoma County, commended the candidates and delegates for conducting the exercise peacefully.
