Government to expand registration services to Sabatia and Luanda

The government has unveiled plans to establish civil registration offices in Sabatia and Luanda sub-counties, Vihiga County, as part of its strategy to decentralize services and ensure equitable access for all citizens.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, speaking during his tour of Vihiga County, emphasized that the initiative reflects the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to bringing government services closer to the people.

He further highlighted that following the recent waiver on the acquisition of National Identity Card fees, the government is also considering reducing the cost of acquiring birth certificates to ease the burden on families.

“We are deliberate in ensuring that every Kenyan accesses any crucial official document, without encountering prohibitive costs or travelling for long distances,” said the CS.
