Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa has led hundreds of mourners in paying tribute to the late Enock Andanje Musambai in Manda Village, Malava Sub-County, Kakamega County.
The late Andanje, who served as a Director on the Kakamega County Water and Sanitation Company (KACWASCO) Board, was remembered as a loyal friend and trusted ally of the governor.
In his tribute, the Governor described the late Adanje as a distinguished educationist, a formidable mobilizer and a mentor, whose dedication to community service and academia had left an indelible mark.
“Andanje was more than a colleague; he was a dependable leader and mentor whose guidance will forever be cherished,” he said.
He added that Malava constituency and the country at large had lost a devoted servant of the people, whose legacy will endure.
The governor was accompanied by his deputy Ayub Savula, Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinal, host MCA David Kivishi, County Executives and several other leaders.
The leaders joined friends and family of the deceased in mourning and offering words of comfort.
At the time of his passing, Andanje was a candidate in the forthcoming Malava parliamentary by-election.
His demise, they noted, had left a huge gap in academia, politics, and community development.
