The National Government will establish nine new Huduma Centres across the country in an effort to take services closer to citizens and enhance public service delivery.
Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Service, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, said the expansion aligns with the administration’s commitment to a citizen-centred, technology-driven public service.
“The Government remains committed to taking services closer to the people. We are rolling out nine new Huduma Centres on top of the existing 59 facilities to further expand access, improve convenience and strengthen service delivery,” said Dr. Imbunya.
She made the remarks when she received a progress briefing from the Huduma Secretariat’s top management team on the status of ongoing construction and refurbishment works in selected huduma centres.

According to the PS, the new centres set to open before the end of the current financial year include Runyenjes, Kilifi, Malindi, Molo and Maua.
Several existing centres have also undergone refurbishment to boost efficiency and enhance customer experience. “This expansion is fully aligned to the BETA agenda, which aims to transform service delivery through people-centred and technology-enabled solutions,” Dr. Imbunya added.
Huduma Kenya Service Delivery Programme CEO, CPA Ben Kai Chilumo, said Huduma Centres record the highest physical footprint of any government service point in the country, with an average of 60,000 customers served daily.
“Last year alone, Huduma Kenya served over 14.1 million customers. In the current financial year 2025/2026, we are targeting to serve at least 14 million citizens,” said Chilumo.
He noted that 18 centres currently operate under extended working hours to increase service availability.
Chilumo further urged citizens to collect pending documents such as birth certificates, national IDs and driving licenses from their respective centres.
“If you have been notified, please visit your Huduma Centre and collect your documents. We have a significant number of uncollected documents yet these are critical for accessing many essential services,” he said.
Huduma Centres remain a central pillar in modernising public service delivery, providing a one-stop point for services such as National IDs, KRA, SHA, NSSF, NTSA licenses and other key government functions.
As Kenya accelerates public sector reforms, huduma centres continue to stand out among the most impactful initiatives cutting bureaucracy, reducing processing time and making government services faster, transparent and citizen-friendly.
