Jubilation as Siala TTI in Migori receives bus donation promised by President Ruto

There was jubilation in Siala Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Rongo Sub-County on Thursday after the institution received a new bus donated by President William Ruto, fulfilling a pledge he made during a past development tour of the region.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony, Rongo Member of Parliament Paul Abuor thanked President Ruto for honouring his promise and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education and development in Migori County.

Abuor urged residents of Rongo and the wider Migori region to support President Ruto’s re-election in 2027, citing tangible development achievements under his leadership.

“The donation of this bus is a clear testament to President Ruto’s dedication to supporting education and development in this county,” said Abuor.

“It will greatly enhance student mobility, enable access to practical training opportunities, and support the institution’s academic and co-curricular programmes.”

The MP also noted that Siala TTI has benefited from other national government interventions, including the establishment of a modern Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) centre equipped with up-to-date computers.

“We are in the broad-based government, and I call upon the people of Migori to re-elect President Ruto so that we can continue witnessing development, including the possible upgrading of this institution into a National Polytechnic,” Abuor added.

Siala TTI Chief Principal, Ms. Asha Bakari, expressed gratitude on behalf of the institution, thanking President Ruto for honouring his promise.

“On behalf of Siala TTI, we sincerely thank President William Ruto, for this bus donation. This gesture will go a long way in improving transport for our learners and staff, supporting academic activities, co-curricular programmes, and community outreach initiatives,” she said.

Ms. Bakari described the donation as a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to strengthening education, expanding access to skills training, and empowering young people. She assured both the President and the area MP that the bus would be properly utilized, managed, and maintained for the benefit of the institution and the surrounding community.

Rongo Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Mr. George Matundura, challenged the institution’s management to ensure the bus is used strictly for its intended purpose of serving the learner’ movements in pursuit of knowledge.

Matundura also urged members of the local community to embrace Siala TTI by enrolling their children and maintaining a positive relationship with the institution to support its growth and sustainability.
