Kalonzo declares opposition strongly united

Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that the opposition team remains strong and united.

Kalonzo was speaking at his Yatta farm in Machakos, where he had hosted several opposition leaders, 23 public university Dons and 30 student leaders from various campuses across the country, where he assured them that the united coalition had no intentions of crumbling, but would stick together to the end.

He cautioned the leaders against internal divisions adding that their commitment as opposition should withstand all challenges.

“As political leaders we agreed to have a team and the team is building up strongly, let’s not dismember the team,” added the WPF leader.

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi also present, reiterated that they are committed to a national transformational change and pledged to remain loyal and united to the opposition, despite speculation of internal rifts.

He commended Kalonzo for his efforts in charting a path for 2027 elections and highlighted the activities they are focusing on such as consensus building, intellectual meetings and other engagements across the country, until they all agree on the opposition flag bearer for 2027.

Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, who was recently appointed as the United Opposition spokesperson and head of Secretariat on his part, noted that the inclusion of University student leaders was crucial and a proof that no generation is better than the other.

He added that they are trying to create conditions under which representatives of younger Kenyans can sit with political leaders and discuss the agenda of the nation and what will benefit the citizens in matters of education and development.

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti called on the national government to prioritize devolution and ensure timely funding to enable governors to deliver on their mandate and for the success of devolution.

Others present included former Attorney General Justin Muturi, lawyer Ndegwa Njiru and county officials.
