Kiambu enhances healthcare with advanced medical equipment

Kiambu county has procured and commissioned state-of-the-art medical equipment to strengthen service delivery in the health sector and ensure quality healthcare for residents.

The launch ceremony at Kiambu County Headquarters was led by Deputy Governor Rosemary Kihika, alongside County Executive Committee Members (CECM) of Health Dr. Elias Maina, Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss, senior county officials, healthcare workers, and stakeholders in the medical field.

The newly launched equipment includes endoscopy machines and dialysis units.

County leaders urged stakeholders to refrain from politicizing health issues, emphasizing that quality healthcare benefits all residents regardless of political affiliation.

The initiative aims to decentralise healthcare services, with Kiambu Level V Hospital receiving its first-ever endoscopy machines, enabling doctors to conduct non-intrusive diagnostics and treatments using camera-guided technology.

Phase 1 of the procurement process has delivered medical equipment worth over Sh500 million to county hospitals, including X-ray machines, dental equipment, ultrasound machines, and other specialised medical tools.

Dr. Elias Maina noted, “The dialysis machines and the rest of the equipment are the best gift you can give to the people of Kiambu this New Year,” and applauded the county government for its continued investment in healthcare infrastructure.

The county leadership reiterated their commitment to improving healthcare access, ensuring that residents receive timely and efficient medical services, while expanding advanced diagnostic and treatment options across the region.
