KPR shot dead in Pura by suspected bandits

A Kenya Police Reservist was today shot dead by suspected bandits believed to be from Tiaty, Baringo County, while another was left seriously injured in the Pura area in Samburu County.

Following the ambush by the suspected cattle rustlers, area residents rushed the injured one to Maralal hospital for treatment.

Speaking to KNA in Loosuk, the assistant County Commissioner, Mr Peter Mutiso, said that the security personnel have been dispatched to the area to pursue the bandits who fled towards Malabo valley.

While noting that the deceased NPR was a very hard-working person, he urged the area residents to remain calm as the security machinery worked to bring his killers to book.

He further thanked the people of Pura who work closely with the security team over security matters.
