Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s Infrastructural Development Agenda is on course.
On Saturday, she inspected the tarmacking of the 3.8 km Gossip-Mlolongo police road that will significantly enhance accessibility to security, health and business services in Mlolongo.
The Gossip-Mlolongo Road also serves over 100,000 residents and it’s an access route to Mlolongo Dispensary and Assisi Nursing home therefore will ensure residents’ easy access to healthcare facilities.
The road has been impassable during the rainy seasons disrupting movement and businesses.
Wavinya, who was speaking during the inspection, pointed out that Machakos residents should take advantage of the development and infrastructural projects to their entrepreneurial advantage to create avenues for business growth in the county and upgrade their livelihood.
The Governor warned residents against the encroachment of road reserves, noting it curtails proper road developments across the county and many times results in disputes and forceful eviction of business structures.

She further warned the residents that where the encroachment was hindering development, the structures would be forcefully destroyed if not cleared by the owners voluntarily.
“It is disappointing that there is a massive encroachment on our roads in urban centres, making it difficult for the county government to carry out major road upgrades,” lamented the Governor.
The Governor officially commissioned the Mzee Ndeti Pride lands road in Sabaki. The road’s construction was a collaboration between the County government and the Sabaki Residents Association (SaRa).
