Matiang’i woos Nyamira residents to support his presidential bid

Former Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i has wooed residents of Nyamira County to support his presidential bid in 2027.

Dr. Matiang’i made the appeal on Friday while mourning Senator Okong’o Omogeni’s uncle Joas Abuga Mogeni during his burial in West Mugirango constituency, Nyamira County saying he has what it takes to be the 6th President of the Republic of Kenya come 2027.

“All of you know my exemplary performance track record when I served under former President Uhuru Kenyatta. In all the departments which I was assigned to work, I executed my work diligently and the entire country felt the impact of my performance for the best interest of our country. There is therefore no doubt that I am fit for the president’s seat,” Matiang’i stated.

He observed that Kenyans have endlessly complained about the high cost of living which is no longer tenable and the current leadership seems not to listen or put a proper strategy to lighten the economic burden which has become too heavy for citizens to bear.

The presidential hopeful advised the electorates from the three wards conducting by-elections in Nyamira County on November 27 to ensure they vote for candidates who belong to the united opposition parties and thereafter form a strong coalition which would be able to mobilize votes for his presidential bid in 2027.

He said Kenyans are ripe for a change in leadership and they are fully informed that the economic stability of our country is unstable and needs to be urgently salvaged by visionary leaders like him.

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko who was present however categorically stated that he would support a candidate from the UDA party from Ekerenyo ward from his constituency because he vowed to serve the government of the day at all times when he took oath of office and would not tolerate any form of political intimidation.

In attendance were political leaders from several political affiliations drawn from the entire Gusii region including former Kisii County Senator Prof. Sam Ongeri, the current senators for both Kisii and Nyamira; Momoima Onyonka and Okong’o Omogeni, North Mugirango and Borabu constituency MPs; Joash Nyamoko and Partick Osero and political aspirants at both national and county levels of government.
