Bandari FC has appointed Mohammed Borji as their head coach for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season so as to strengthen their squad after ashaky start.
Former Wydad Casablanca striker, Borji, joins Bandari FC on a one-year contract. The announcement was made on Monday by Bandari CEO, Tony Kibwana, after they parted ways with Ken Odhiambo following the team’s difficult start to the 2025/26 season that saw Bandari struggling near the relegation zone.
“I am pleased to announce Borji as our new head coach. We believe he can strengthen the team, with our main goal being to win the league title. His profile shows he has what it takes to be a winner,” said Kibwana.
Bandari Chairman Taufiq Balala said the reason they decided to change the technical bench was to ensure the team wins the league title. He also warned those who doubted their choice to wait until the end of the season to see the results.
The new Head Coach, Borji, assured Bandari fans that he would focus on building a team that would be difficult to defeat.“I believe Bandari have good players and great talent, so my main focus will be on building a solid structure and forming a strong team,” he said.
Borji will be assisted by Tarik Bendamou, who joins as the new assistant coach, replacing John Baraza.
The duo are expected to begin preparations immediately for Bandari’s upcoming fixture and will be able to lead the squad in the upcoming ODM at Twenty tournament, where they will face AFC Leopards.
Borji’s first official SportPesa Premier League match in charge will be against AFC Leopards after the FIFA International break.
