Ndumberi Primary School Nears Completion of Modern Science Laboratory

Learners at Ndumberi Primary School, Kiambu County, are set to benefit from a new state-of-the-art science laboratory as construction enters the final stages.

The educational facility, designed for Junior Secondary students, is expected to be ready and fully equipped in a few weeks.

The laboratory is part of a broader package of infrastructural upgrading that has transformed the school in recent months.

Nine new classrooms have already been built; the entire school perimeter wall has been constructed and a modern gate erected, while existing classrooms have been fully renovated with tiled floors and new roofing. These efforts have given the school a fresh look and created a conducive environment for learning.

Area MP, Machua Waithaka, who inspected the progress of the works, said the project

reflects a wider plan to ensure schools have the facilities needed for the delivery of quality education.

“Our focus is on providing basic infrastructure that supports quality learning for every child

in this constituency,” he emphasised.

Parents and teachers have welcomed the development, noting that the changes already have a huge positive impact on the learning experience.

Grace Wairimu, a parent at the school, said the developments have given families renewed confidence in public education.

“For many years, our children studied in overcrowded, poorly maintained classrooms. Now they have a clean and safe place to learn, and with the laboratory coming up, they will finally have the chance to compete fairly with others,” she asserted.

Teachers at Ndumberi Primary echoed the sentiments, saying the science laboratory will make a big difference for Junior Secondary students who need practical exposure to complement their studies. They pointed out that for too long, many schools in the area have lacked basic facilities, leaving learners disadvantaged.

The new laboratory is expected to give students hands-on experience in science subjects, strengthening their academic performance and preparing them for further studies. It is also seen as an investment in the community’s future, equipping young people with skills relevant to the job market.

With the projects nearing completion, the Ndumberi Primary School community says the infrastructural upgrades have renewed their sense of pride and ownership.
