Nkitintini Seniors FC were crowned champions of the inaugural Sialala Super Cup, after edging out Esupetai FC 1–0 in a thrilling final match played at the Ewaso Nyiro Grounds, Narok South Sub-county, Saturday.
The tightly contested game was decided by a lone strike from Dany Lepore, whose goal proved decisive and sent Nkitintini fans into jubilation.
For their victory, Nkitintini Seniors FC walked away with Sh 50,000, while runners-up Esupetai FC received Sh 30,000.
The third and fourth-placed teams were each awarded Sh. 15,000, each in recognition of their strong performances.
In a show of inclusivity and encouragement, the remaining eight teams among the 12 that participated in the tournament were each given Sh 5,000.
Tournament sponsor, Mr. Joseph Sialala, praised the teams for their competitiveness and discipline, noting that the event was meant to nurture grassroots football.
He announced plans to register the champions in the Rift Regional Tournament, a move aimed at boosting local talent and exposing players to higher-level competition.
FKF Narok Branch Vice Chairman, Mr. Sammy Pere, noted that the tournament produced talents and that the Federation will ensure that the teams play friendly matches with top teams from the region such as Mara Sugar, who are currently in the KPL, as they will soon host their home matches in William ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok town.
