Ntutu commissions mega projects at Angata Barrikoi

The Narok county government has commissioned three Early Child Development Education (ECDE) classrooms, a computer laboratory and a health center at Angata Barrikoi area in Trans Mara South Sub County.

The modern computer laboratory was commissioned at Ng’endalel Secondary School while the three ECDE classrooms were built at Kapsinendet, Koibeyot and Kimugul primary schools.

A new health block was also commissioned at Angata Health Cente and two boreholes in Angata town and at the health center.

Speaking while commissioning the projects, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu said the three classrooms have a capacity to hold 40 students each and are fully equipped with ECDE compliant furniture.

“The classrooms will go a long way in ensuring close proximity to ECDE learning centers for the pre-primary learners in Angata ward,” said the governor.

Ntutu added that the new hospital block will facilitate better and faster health services to the members of the community. The building comprises a pharmacy, antenatal unit, child welfare section, laboratory, nutrition unit, consultation rooms, and public washrooms.

“This state-of-art facility replaces the old structure that has served the community since 1974, thereby enhancing access to quality healthcare for our people,” he explained.

On water, the governor reiterated that the two boreholes will help resolve the long-standing issue of water shortage that has for a long time been synonymous with Angata Barrikoi ward.

“In my last visit here, the residents raised concerns over the persistent water shortage in the town and at the health facility, where water had to be transported by donkeys. The challenge is now comprehensively addressed,” the governor said.

“Our main focus is to ensure development gets into the grassroots. Everybody should enjoy good health services, access clean water; and our young children as well have a right to a conducive learning environment,” said Ntutu.

Other development projects that the county government is implementing in the ward is the construction of a modern livestock sale yard and grading of feeder roads.

The governor was accompanied by Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johannah Ngeno and area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Joseph Koech.
