Vihiga Senator Godfrey Otsosi has met with newly elected officials of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in Vihiga County, congratulating them for earning the trust of teachers through a transparent and democratic process.
Speaking during the meeting held on Saturday, Senator Otsosi said the engagement focused on promoting teachers’ welfare, strengthening social dialogue, and enhancing collaboration between educators and policymakers to improve the quality of education in the county and across the country.
“Our discussions centred on the welfare of teachers, the importance of constructive engagement, and building strong partnerships to uplift education standards,” the Senator said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to championing for better working conditions, timely remuneration, and increased funding for the education sector to ensure a motivated and productive teaching workforce.
The Senator also urged the new union leadership to uphold unity, professionalism, and accountability as they carry out their mandate on behalf of teachers.
Senator Otsosi assured the officials of his continued support and partnership, noting that collective efforts were key to safeguarding the dignity of the teaching profession and advancing the interests of learners in Vihiga County and beyond.
