A disabled beneficiary of the Nyota Programme has thanked the Migori Information Office for playing a pivotal role in helping her enroll for the ongoing Nyota training.
Margaret Ajema, who hails from Ayego village in Suna East Sub-County, said that she had been called on Friday, November 14, to attend the training at Maua Primary School in Meru County.
Anjema said that she was confused and did not know what to do because she already knew trainings were supposed to be conducted where a person applied.
She, however, disclosed that she decided to seek assistance from the Information Office and, through the interventions of the relevant authorities led by Principal Secretary (PS) for the State Department for Public Investment and Assets Management, Cyril Odede, she finally managed to join the rest of the Nyota beneficiaries at the Muslim Primary school in Migori town on Monday, 17.
According to the Suna Sub-County Nyota Programme Centre Coordinator, Geoffrey Ounda, Anjema will be assisted and integrated into the training programme to fully benefit from the project.
“We will assign her a trainer and give her the manual to help her understand the programme better”, said Ounda.
The training, which ended on Monday,y 1,7 at the Muslim Primary School in Suna Central Ward-Suna East Sub-County, saw a total of 235 Nyota trainees, among them seven individuals living with disability, benefit from the training; that included entrepreneurship skills and start-up capital.
