Special schools need more support

The Principal Secretary (PS) for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Dr. Jane Keke Imbunya, during a working visit to Friends Special School, Kaimosi, Vihiga County. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to an all-inclusive education system, noting that the Kenya Kwanza Administration, remains focused on ensuring that no learner, including those with special needs, is left behind for any reason.

The students expressed the challenges faced by learners with special needs and urged the government to strengthen support systems, improve infrastructure, and increase funding for special education institutions.

The PS also distributed relief supplies to the school. The items distributed included sanitary towels, bags of rice and beans, mattresses, and blankets, targeting both nutritional and hygienic needs of students.
