Tusker ready for Mathare test in Matchday Three of the SportPesa League

Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has said the team is ready to bounce back to winning ways, ahead of Wednesday’s matchday three of the 2025/26 SportPesa League against Mathare United at the Dandora Stadium in Nairobi.

The Brewers come into the campaign against the Slum Boys off back-to-back defeats, but coach Okere says they are keen to right the wrongs and get back to winning ways.

“It is a tough period of course losing two games in a row, but we have also tried to look at the positives that will lift the team’s spirits heading into the oncoming game,” the coach said.

Okere said that they had a good pre-season with so many good moments that they could pick and bring them their league matches

“One area that we have worked on a lot is prevention of goals. We have conceded four goals in two matches but in circumstances which we should have controlled better so over the last two days of training, this is an area we have looked at keenly,” he added.

On meeting Mathare side, coming off a confident win, the coach expects it’s going to be tough.

“They are a very good side with technical players and are confident at the moment, so we will approach that match with a lot of caution, but we must head there confident too,” he said.
