UDA candidate clinches MCA seat in Kajiado

United Democratic Alliance(UDA) candidate Amos Mpusia, is the Member of County Assembly elect for Purko Ward.

In the official results announced by the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission, Mpusia clinched the seat after garnering 2,085 votes.

Simon Sanare of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) got 1,522 votes while Daniel Naikuni of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) got 298 votes.

In his acceptance speech, Mpusia thanked God for helping him win and pledged to deliver services to the people once sworn in.

He extended an olive branch to his worthy competitors requesting their support to enhance the living standards of the residents.

Mpusia also thanked the UDA party leaders in Kajiado for working with him to secure the seat adding that the win means the ward is fully backing President William Ruto’s re-election bid.

While the total number of registered voters in the ward is 4,848 only 3,905 turned up during yesterday’s byelection.

The Purko Ward seat fell vacant after the death of former MCA Simon Saitoti in March 2025.
