Vihiga County Scales Up Climate-Smart Agriculture to Boost Food Security

In response to the adverse effects of climate change, the County Government of Vihiga is intensifying efforts to enhance food security through climate-smart agricultural practices.

One of the beneficiaries, Ezekiel Boge, a farmer from Mungoma Ward, has adopted modern farming techniques in the Buhani Irrigation Scheme, which is currently 60 percent complete.

The initiative aims to irrigate 100 farms, establish greenhouses, distribute quality farm inputs, and strengthen agricultural extension services to support local farmers in adapting to changing weather patterns.
