Wajir County’s top performer in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, Ismail Ibrahim Ahmed, has been awarded a full scholarship by the Adan Keynan Foundation to pursue higher education at an institution of his choice.
Ismail, from Eldas Constituency, attained an A (Plain) of 81 points, emerging as the best candidate in the county.
The scholarship, announced by Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan, will fully cover his university studies as part of the foundation’s programme to support academic excellence.
Keynan said the award was intended to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder bright students from accessing higher education. He described Ismail’s performance as a reflection of hard work, discipline and commitment to learning.
“This achievement demonstrates the immense potential that exists among learners in our region when given the right support,” said the MP adding: “We want this scholarship to motivate other students in Eldas, Wajir and across the country to aim high and remain focused on their studies.”
The MP also commended Elnur Mixed Secondary School, teachers and parents for their role in nurturing the student’s success, noting that collective support was key to the outcome.
The Adan Keynan Foundation stated that the scholarship programme targets high-performing students from underserved areas to help them transition to university and contribute to national development after excelling.
