Wiper party bags Mumbuni North ward by election

Anthony Kisoi of Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF), has won the tough contest of the Mumbuni North MCA seat after garnering 3849 votes.

This is after battling it out with two major competitors Harrison Wambua of Maendeleo Chap Chap who came in second with 2766 votes and UDA Misi Mutua who came third after garnering 809 votes.

Most polling stations had short queues as residents shied away from the polling polls which tallied with IEBC report that voter turnout was 55.9 %. While the registered voters were 13,778, only 7710 voted in the Mumbuni North ward by election.

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti while speaking at Mumbuni girls after the announcement of the results said that she is proud and grateful of the people of Mumbuni who have entrusted their trust on Kasoi.

Wavinya commended the Mumbuni North voters for upholding peace and ensuring there was no interference with the voting process adding that the win reflects the vision the people of Machakos have for the Wiper party leader.

“Residents of Mumbuni North, thank you so much for upholding peace and unity during this democratic exercise. Your participation shows your commitment to ensuring that your voice truly counts, as well as your dedication to the future of Mumbuni North Ward,” she added.

She further thanked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for conducting a fair and credible election and urged the other candidates to unite with Kisoi, and bring their ideas forward for a more prosperous future for Mumbuni North Ward.

Anthony Kisoi thanked Mumbuni residents for choosing him as their Ward Representative and assured them of his total commitment to their developments as he also thanked IEBC for a transparent and credible election.
