18,000 Makueni students to receive bursaries

Makueni County Government has disbursed bursary cheques worth Sh 114.9 million to benefit an estimated 18,179 needy students across the county.

This was revealed by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for ICT, Education, and Internship, Japheth Mang’oka, at Green Park in Wote town, where he presided over the distribution of cheques on Monday.

“The bursaries will be distributed through the Ward Administrators in all the 30 wards across the county. We target needy and deserving students to support their education. The initiative underscores the county government’s commitment to promote access to education for all,” said Mang’oka.

The cheques were given to the ward administrators who will distribute them to the beneficiaries at the grassroots level.

Present at the function were the Chief Officer (CO) Irene Makau, officials of the county government and wananchi.
