Some 6,186 candidates in Vihiga Sub-County started their KPSEA and KJSEA examinations in all primary and Junior Secondary schools across the sub-county.

Speaking at Vihiga County headquarters while opening the issuing out of examination papers, Western Region Director of Education Wilson Koros assured residents that the examinations will be done in a peaceful environment.

Koros confirmed that there are 3,092 KPSEA candidates, out of which1,572 are boys and 1,520 are girls. KJSEA candidates, he added, are 3,094: 1,556 boys and 1,538 girls.

Koros thanked the centre managers for the good work they had done, asking them to allow the candidates now to play their part by sitting for the examinations without any disruption.

He added that they have enough vehicles and officers to monitor the examinations, saying they hope that everything will run smoothly during the entire exams period.

On KCSE Koros said there are 3,574 KCSE candidates – 1,646 boys and 1,928 girls – who are expected to start their examinations next Monday.
