The Bomet County Assembly concluded vetting process of nominees to various appointive positions in the county public service.
The nominees vetted were persons appointed to the positions of; County Chief Officer, Selection Panel for recruitment of the Members and Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer of the County Public Service Board and the position of member of the County rural and urban affordable housing committee.
Members vetted for the position as County Chief Officers (CO) were former Silibwet Township Ward Representative Haron Kirui nominee for appointment as CO of Labour and Public Service, Mr Simon Chirchir nominee for CO of Roads, Transport and Public Works; and Mr Mutai Jonah Kipng’etich nominee for CO of Finance and Economic Planning.
Five Nominees were vetted for appointment to the selection panel for recruitment of the Members and secretary/CEO of the County Public Service Board who were
Alice Chepkemoi Kirui and Patricia Chepkirui Lasoi, representatives of Private/ Business Organizations, Law Society of Kenya representative Ms Jesca Chepkirui, KUPPET Branch Secretary Mr Charles Kiprotich Ng’eno and CPA Reuben Kipchirchir, representative of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
Ms Sarah C. Koskei was vetted nominee for appointment as Member of the Bomet County Rural and Urban Affordable Housing Committee.
The vetting process comes upon the appointments made by His Excellency the Governor Hillary Barchok submitted to the County Assembly for approval pursuant to provisions of section 58A of the County Governments Act, 2012 and section 7 of the Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act number 5 of 2017 in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
The vetted nominees will therefore wait for approval or disapproval by the various vetting Committees that shall table a report to the House concerning their suitability.
