PS Muthoni urges youths to turn up for police, military recruitment

The youth have been urged to take advantage of the impending recruitment exercise by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service.

Public Health and Professional Standards PS Mary Muthoni, while acknowledging the high unemployment levels in the country, encouraged the young people to remain alert and seize opportunities whenever they arise.

“I have seen and we know that youths want jobs. There is the upcoming police and military recruitment. People should not stay at home and say that they do not have the right connection, just come forward for possible consideration,” she said.

Speaking in Ndia constituency, Kirinyaga county during an engagement with the clergy, the PS emphasised that all the available jobs were open to every Kenyan irrespective of  gender, religion or ethnic background, provided the applicants meet the requisite requirements and qualifications.

“Whether you are from Kirinyaga, Mombasa or anywhere else, you will not be turned away. You should go there and present your certificates and other testimonials and that is it,” she noted.

The PS further urged young people to familiarise themselves with government recruitment systems and regularly check the Public Service Commission of Kenya (PSC) website for other job opportunities.
