Kenya Ports Authority disband Bandari Football Club Board of Trustees

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has dissolved the Bandari Football Club Board of Trustees, following a trail of poor results in the ongoing Kenya Premier League matches.

KPA, the main sponsor of Bandari FC, has, through an internal memo signed by the Managing Director, Capt. William Ruto, announced the dissolution of the entire Board of Trustees, which was constituted in March this year and chaired by Stephen Toya.

The 18 members of the Board sent packing included Capt. Ruto (Patron), Twaha Mbarak (Vice Chairman), Tony Kibwana (Club CEO), and Treasurer Ayub Nyata.

Other members are Nurein Shakuwa, Cleopatra Taabu, John Kiptoo Maritim, Patricia Manthi, Vincent Kosgey, Ricky Solomon, Salim Ali, Mohamed Madigi, and David Buchere (Secretary).

The memo dated December 9, 2025, was addressed to all general managers and divisional managers and copied to the president of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), Hussein Mohamed, and the KPA manager of security services.

“Acknowledging the competitive nature of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and keen to re-strategize the Club’s performance, Management hereby dissolves the 2025 Board of Trustees as currently constituted,” said Capt. Ruto in his memo.

The KPA boss further said the manager of the security services, Tony Kibwana, will act as the club chief executive officer until the reconstitution of the new Board of Trustees.

KPA has invested heavily in the team, which is now lying at position 14 with twelve points after playing ten matches so far, despite appointing former Morocco national team player Mohamed Borjia as head coach.

Bandari is playing with Gor Mahia on Friday in Mombasa, and according to sources inside the team, any poor results might cost Borji his job.

Defending champions Kenya Police are at the summit of the league with 20 points, followed closely by Gor Mahia with 19 points after both teams played ten matches.
