The Elgeyo Marakwet Africa Inland Church (AIC) Bishop David Kipsoi has appealed to leaders to use the positions they hold to help citizens alleviate various challenges facing them.
In his Christmas message to Christians at AIC church Iten, the Bishop said just like Jesus was born to liberate humankind from sin, leaders should also emulate him by liberating citizens from poverty and other challenges.
“There is a reason why God has given you the position you hold during this time; use it to work with the people in not only solving their problems but also providing new ideas, “ he said.
He also appealed to Christians to use this time as the year comes to a close to reflect on the year that was and how they would want to shape their destiny in the coming year.
The Bishop added that just as God sacrificed by giving us His son to become human, Christians should also sacrifice whatever God has given them by sharing with others who are less privileged.
He, however, reminded Kenyans that even as they celebrate, they should know that January is round the corner.
“There are school fees to pay and other projects that need to go on both at the family and community level and therefore, ensure that you don’t go overboard with the celebrations.
He called on Kenyans to exercise caution on the roads as people travel to different places to prevent unnecessary death through accidents.
