National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has urged residents of Nyanza region to support re-election of President Dr. William Ruto during the 2027 polls.
Speaking at Rota Primary School in Ndhiwa Constituency, Mbadi said the Kenya Kwanza administration had delivered numerous development projects in the region.
The CS, accompanied by Ndhiwa MP Martin Owino said the government was committed to transforming the lives of the area residents.
He cited various projects undertaken in Homa bay Town such as affordable housing, construction of Homa Bay Pier, construction of Homa Bay fish market and other roads in the area.
The other projects which are ongoing in the county include construction of Sindo -Magunga – Sori road, Gor Mahia road, Kanyadhiang-Pala- Kadel road and Adiedo- Karabok road.
“ Ruto has shown the goodwill of transforming the lives of citizens in this region. Let us support his re-election in 2027,” he said.
The CS said the engagement ODM party made with the serving president is more beneficial than the handshake they had with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mbadi said the broad-based government had benefited through key government appointments, besides the region getting a fair share of development projects.
“Unlike the Uhuru handshake, Ruto has given us ministerial and other positions in the government,” Mbadi reiterated.
The CS maintained that Ruto was the only truthful president, Nyanza residents should bank their hopes on.
“Ruto has a good heart of helping our people. He is the one who can help us,” he added.
Mbadi told residents to shun opposition leaders including former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa because they cannot transform the economy of the country.
“The opposition leaders lack the agenda for transforming this country’s economy,” Mbadi said.
The Ndiwa MP also said they are ready to support President Ruto’s administration.
“As ODM legislators, we are supporting the government through the broad based arrangement,” Owino said.
He also supported the government’s directive on the use of e-procurement, saying this would enhance accountability and transparency in the process of acquiring necessary goods and services.
