Voter registration has officially begun in Vihiga County’s six constituencies of Vihiga, Hamisi, Sabatia, Tiriki East, Emuhaya and Luanda.
Vihiga County Acting Elections Manager, Hudson Selanoi, said the County targeted to register 88,411 new voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Selanoi noted that the exercise, which started on September 30, 2025, recorded a low turnout on the first day, with only eight new voters registered across the sub-counties.
He urged residents to take advantage of the ongoing exercise, adding that registration officers and biometric machines had already been deployed to all centres.
Selanoi further appealed to chiefs and ward administrators to mobilize and sensitize citizens on the importance of registering as voters to ensure the county meets its target.
